I usually have to refresh several times in order to load the comments. WTF?

I usually don’t have an issue, chrome on Windows 10 and Mac.

They work fine for me, but only with my ad blocker off. With it on, they don’t load.

It tends to work fine for me on Oppo. Takes at least one refresh on FP but it also won’t let me log in to the FP so I try and stay away. This is on Safari 13.0.1

I find it interesting that I can see in notifications that I have something to read, but when I click on it the comment isn’t there and I have to try again in a few minutes.

On Oppo they typically load immediately. On the front page I can only get comments to load on about one in ten articles.

Usually between one and never. This is on Firefox 75. Chrome always shows the comments, but I ain't gonna switch.

Oppo? works the first time.
Front Page? 2-4 times. At that point I give up.
Using Chrome on Windows 10 and a Mac

Wei rd. Adblock plus isn’t doing that to me.

With an ad-blocked device, typically not bad at all. From my modern tablet, not good.

If I click on the date and time of the notification, it takes me to the right one

Just one reload does me.

Hmm - I’ll have to try that next time. I usually click on the link to the topic or comment.

It seems to be a lot worse on the main blogs for me. And yeah, all that reloading is exhausting . I find myself giving up after about 3 or 4 refreshes. I honestly don’t know how much longer I can put up with Kinja in its current broken form.

You need to enable cross-site cookies to get Safari to work with any of the non-Kinja.com sites.

Are you using Firefox? I actually contacted Kinja support about it...they told me they don’t have the staff with COVID
lockdown right now
to fix it, but I can confirm it’s a known issue with Firefox, but doesn’t seem to happen on Chrome.

Same - I contacted Kinja support about it. They don’t have the staff right now with the COVID lockdown, or so they told me, to fix it....but they did confirm that it’s a known issue with Firefox right now.

I have had to refresh once or twice recently but only on the FP

It’s ok right now, but sometimes one refresh.

same here on safari

oppo works fine for me
but the fp and all the others up there take a refresh or two

That did it! I can now shit post on the FP

Just Jeepin’ solved it for me. Go to safari preferences and under privacy, uncheck “prevent cross-site tracking”
Ninja edit: the logging in to the front page issue. Not sure about the comments

Ah, so its not just me. Man, Ballaban really ran Jalopnik into the ground, didn’t he.

I don’t do anything with Kinja other than Oppo. I use Chrome/uBlock/PrivacyBadger on Win10 and Oppo loads fine.
On the other hand, my work PC with all its security features and crap, loads the comments after a while... probably about 30 secs to 1 min of loading before comments appear.

Awesome, now if I could only get thingverse to continue loading on my mac...wont work on safari or chrome.

Usually works in Chrome, seems to work in Firefox only a small percentage of the time, and only on threads that are at least an hour old (which is truly baffling to me). For example, I had to go over to Chrome to type this. I thought it was nicely ironic that while it said that there were 20+ replies, I couldn’t see any of them.

I have the same issue on lifehacker and the takeout too.
